Cheryl Walker

Cheryl Walker is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in safety, legal counsel, and engineering. Currently serving as a National Practice Consultant at HNTB since March 2024, Walker previously held multiple key positions at the Federal Highway Administration, including Associate Administrator for Safety and Director of various offices. With a background in legal enforcement and litigation at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and as a partner at Brunenkant & Cross, LLP, Walker represented natural gas producers in regulatory matters. Early career experience includes roles as an Associate Attorney at Bakerbotts LLP and as an Electrical Controls Engineer at General Motors, where program design for electrical control systems was a primary focus. Cheryl Walker holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University.
