Melissa Mortimer currently serves as Historian IV at HNTB since January 2024 and holds the position of Adjunct Professor in the Interior Architecture program at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga since August 2018. Melissa's previous roles include Development Review Planner for the City of Chattanooga, where oversight of local historic districts and technical restoration assistance were provided, and Historic Preservation Planner at Southeast Tennessee Development District, focusing on historic preservation practices and funding. Additional experience includes consulting for Revive Preservation and Planning LLC and internships at various historic sites and organizations. Melissa earned a Master's degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Murray State University.
