Michael Sweeney is an accomplished executive in the engineering and construction sector, currently serving as Executive Vice President and Eastern US President at HNTB since November 2012. Sweeney has led significant transit projects and market sectors throughout the eastern United States, including overseeing $26 billion in projects during tenure as Vice President at AECOM from 1987 to 2010. Previous roles include Vice President at TranSystems and Northeast Transit Market Sector Leader at DMJM Harris, where Sweeney was Chief Engineer for the Long Island Rail Road Grand Central Terminal project. Earlier experience includes Senior Project Manager roles at CTE Engineering and Envirodyne Engineers, contributing to major infrastructure projects such as the Times Square Station restoration. Sweeney holds a Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Management from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Pratt Institute.
