HOBY Rhode Island is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering high school students across the state through leadership development, service, and personal growth. For nearly 6 decades, we’ve helped young people unlock their potential and become catalysts for positive change in their schools and communities.

Each year, we host a dynamic, three-day leadership seminar at the University of Rhode Island for high school sophomores. Students engage in hands-on activities, interactive panels, and thoughtful discussions focused on personal leadership, working with others, and making a difference through service. Our goal is to inspire every student to return home with the confidence and skills to lead and serve.

Our program is entirely volunteer-driven, with passionate alumni and community leaders coming back year after year to support and mentor new students. After attending, each HOBY ambassador is challenged to complete 100 hours of community service in the year that follows—building a stronger Rhode Island, one leader at a time.

Whether you’re a student, educator, volunteer, or supporter, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of leadership right here in Rhode Island.
