Alan Hippe

Chief Financial and Information Officer at Roche

Alan Hippe is the current Chief Financial and Information Officer at Roche. Alan has held this position since January of 2002. Prior to their current role, Alan was the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee at Continental from January 1998 to December 2009. Alan has also been a Senior Vice President Controlling, Finance and Accounting at Fraport AG from January of 1998 to December of 2002.

Alan has a long history with Roche, as they were previously employed there from January of 1993 to December of 1996. During their time at Roche, Alan was a Research Assistant and also a Teaching Assistant in Microeconomics at Universität Mannheim. Alan left Roche in 1996 to join Wisag Holding (now AVECO Holding) as Head of Group Controlling and IT Systems. Alan remained in this position until 1998 when they transitioned to Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz as a Research Assistant. Alan left Mainz in 2009 to join Thyssenkrupp as a Member of the Executive Board and Group CFO. Alan stayed with Thyssenkrupp until 2011 when they returned to their current role at Roche.

Alan Hippe earned their PhD in Economics and Business Management from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where they were promoted summa cum laude. Alan then worked as a visiting researcher at the Systems Dynamics Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After that, they completed their master's degree in economics and business management at the University of Mannheim. Finally, they worked as a visiting scholar with full scholarship at Université de Toulon.
