Damon Getman

Damon Getman, Ph.D., possesses extensive experience in biomedical research and development, particularly in women's health diagnostics. Following education at Humboldt State University and the University of California, Davis, Damon served as a Graduate Student at UC Davis and later as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California at San Diego. A significant tenure at Hologic from 1999 to the present includes roles such as Sr Principal Scientist and Director of Research and Development, with oversight of product development for women's health diagnostic testing. Additionally, Damon has functioned as a Scientific Director in Medical and Scientific Affairs at Hologic, Inc. Contributions to academia include instruction at UCSD Extension from 2000 to 2018. Research background features expertise in gene transcription and molecular biology, achieved through positions at Chiron-Viagene and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies.
