Derek Joyce

Derek Joyce is a seasoned professional in the field of biological sciences with extensive experience in both research and scientific affairs. Currently serving as the Scientific Affairs Manager and previously as a Medical Science Liaison at Hologic, Inc. since September 2014, Derek has developed a strong background in technical support and applications within biotechnology. Prior to Hologic, Derek worked as a Technical Applications Scientist at Life Technologies and contributed as a Research Associate at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, focusing on quantitative mass spectrometry and aging in C. elegans. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Biology from UC San Diego and a B.A. in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley, where foundational research involved creating hyperactive Drosophila transposase and enhancing DNA sequencing methods.
