William Light is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in cellular and molecular biology, holding a PhD from Northwestern University. Currently serving as Scientist III at Hologic, Inc., William has previously held senior scientific roles at Fate Therapeutics Inc and Element Biosciences, where contributions included assay development for NGS library prep kits and innovations aimed at democratizing NGS. Prior experiences include leading a team at Cibus for trait discovery and gene editing, as well as conducting cancer-related research at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. An accomplished researcher, William began the academic journey as a Graduate Research Assistant at Northwestern University, where significant work contributed to the understanding of adaptive transcriptional memory and neural crest cell identity.
