Evert Start is a Senior Fellow Research Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the (electro-) acoustical scientific community, consultancy, and the pro-audio industry. They hold a PhD in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology, where they developed the mathematical formulation and practical implementation of Wave Field Synthesis (WFS). Evert has made significant contributions to the pro-audio industry, including the development of innovative concepts such as the first beam optimization algorithm for loudspeaker arrays and various acoustic simulation software. They have authored numerous scientific papers and participated in expert panels at international conferences. Evert currently focuses on optimized 3D beamforming and WFS, enhancing sound systems in various sectors.
