Home Base
Mara Joy is an experienced healthcare professional with a focus on nursing and family practice. Since June 2020, Mara has served as a Nurse Practitioner at Home Base, a program affiliated with the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to this, Mara worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Thundermist Health Center from September 2017 to June 2020, and as a Nurse at Community Health Center from July 2011 to August 2017. Mara earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a concentration in Family Practice Nursing from Quinnipiac University in 2017, following a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing from the same institution in 2011.

Home Base is a national nonprofit dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war for Veterans of all eras, Service Members, Military Families and Families of the Fallen through world-class, direct clinical care, wellness, education and research – all at no cost to them – regardless of era of service, discharge status or geographical location. The program was founded by Massachusetts General Hospital and the Boston Red Sox.
