Home Base
Patrick Downes, Psy.D. is a Staff Psychologist at Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program, as well as a Clinical Psychology Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Patrick is also a Children's Book Author, having co-authored the New York Times Best Seller "Rescue & Jessica: A Life-Changing Friendship" with Jessica Kensky and illustrator Scott Magoon. Additionally, Patrick is a Public Speaker who presents on various topics related to trauma medicine, rehabilitation, accessibility for people with disabilities, terrorism, and community healing. Patrick has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College and has a background in counseling, teaching, and working in various healthcare settings.

Home Base is a national nonprofit dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war for Veterans of all eras, Service Members, Military Families and Families of the Fallen through world-class, direct clinical care, wellness, education and research – all at no cost to them – regardless of era of service, discharge status or geographical location. The program was founded by Massachusetts General Hospital and the Boston Red Sox.
