Rick Smith is a chief executive officer with a history of leading nonprofit organizations in health, education, and real estate. Since 2023, they have served as Chief Executive Officer of Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley and of Homeward Bound. They previously led the International Dyslexia Association, Inc. and the Center for Effective Reading Instruction as Chief Executive Officer from 2015 to 2019. Their prior roles include National President/CEO of the American Liver Foundation (2007–2011), President/CEO Southern California/National Area Vice-President of the American Diabetes Association (1981–1987), and Area Vice-President/President for Arizona and Maryland of the National MS Society (1987–2007). They earned a BA in Recreation Administration from the University of New Mexico (1971–1975).
