Ben Darfler

Ben Darfler has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Ben currently holds the position of Director of Engineering, DevEx at Honeycomb.io, starting in February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Engineering Manager, Telemetry at Honeycomb.io from November 2020 to February 2022.

Before joining Honeycomb.io, Ben served as a Trustee at the Village of Trumansburg, starting in April 2018. In this role, they successfully ran a campaign and chaired the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Revision Committee.

From December 2018 to October 2020, Ben worked at InVision as an Engineering Manager. Ben managed a team of 3-6 full-stack engineers and was responsible for hiring and mentoring team members. Ben also played a key role in the company's monolith to microservice migration and led an initiative to improve service observability.

Ben's previous roles include Senior Principal Engineer at Localytics, Editor at InfoQ, Engineering Manager at GiveGab.com, Principal Software Engineer at Localytics, Senior Software Engineer at LocaModa, and Software Engineer at Cisco Systems, inc. Each position showcased their expertise in software development, team management, and implementing architectural changes.

Ben'searly career included a role as the Principal Web Developer at Envirocycle. Throughout their career, Ben has demonstrated a strong track record of technical leadership and driving organizational initiatives.

Ben Darfler attended Lansing High School from 1996 to 2000. Following high school, they enrolled at Binghamton University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from 2000 to 2004. After completing their undergraduate studies, Ben furthered their education at Cornell University from 2005 to 2006, where they obtained a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science.
