Michael Simo

Michael Simo is a Platform Engineer at Honeycomb. Michael previously worked as a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps at Labelbox from January 2020 to October 2020, and at DroneDeploy from March 2017 to December 2019. Prior to that, they were a Cloud Operations Engineer at Comcast from March 2015 to October 2016.

At Comcast, Michael was responsible for maintaining and supporting Comcast's OpenStack private cloud. Michael also assisted users of the OpenStack private cloud, troubleshooting Tier 2/3 OpenStack related issues and providing cloud friendly practices. In addition, they developed command line tools and scripts written with Python and Bash, which fall under the realm of capacity management and showback, deployment automation, DNS and OpenStack application creation. Most of the tools that needed to communicate with OpenStack used the OpenStack Python bindings. Michael also contributed upstream code, reviews and documentation to the OpenStack project (python-keystoneclient, OpenStack Security Guide, python-openstackclient).

Michael Simo has a background in Applied Networking & System Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology as well as an Advanced Diploma from Osbourn Park High School. Michael also has a certification from Mirantis in Certified Administrator for OpenStack (OCM100, previously MCA200).
