Andy Hernandez

Andy Hernandez has over 15 years of work experience in the technology and software engineering industry. From 2004 to 2021, they have worked in a variety of roles, ranging from Graphic/Web Designer to Senior Director of Engineering & Innovation.

At Honorlock, Andy worked as Senior Director of Engineering & Innovation from 2019 to 2021, during which time the engineering team grew by more than 4X. Andy was involved in decision making around hiring strategy and candidate screening. Andy also worked as Director of Engineering and Senior Software Architect.

From 2012 to 2013, Andy worked at DietSpotlight.com as Technology Consultant, Head of Product Design & Development, and Senior Software Engineer. During this time, they designed, developed and implemented a leading software based weight-loss solution, improved SEO strategies to generate web traffic, and architected and built custom web applications.

From 2013 to 2012, Andy was the Head of Engineering at Triton Web Properties, INC. During this time, they architected, managed and built enterprise level product discovery, inventory management and business analytics web applications.

Andy also worked at Citrix Systems from 2012 to 2010 as a Media Developer, where they designed UI/UX for online/offline course materials. From 2010 to 2006, they worked as Senior Designer & Software Engineer at Jaiku Media and Equisolve, Inc., respectively. From 2006 to 2005, they worked as Designer & Web Developer at Beasley Broadcast Group.

Andy also worked at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale from 2005 to 2005 as an Interactive Media Program Tutor and at Caregiver Media Group & Caregiver.com from 2005 to 2004 as a Web Designer & Developer. Theirfirst role was as a Graphic/Web Designer at OMG National from 2004 to 2005.

Andy Hernandez has a Bachelor's degree in Web & Interactive Media Design from The Art Institutes, which they obtained between 2003 and 2006. Prior to that, they completed coursework in Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University from 2001 to 2003. Andy also has three certifications, which they obtained in 2022: Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions from MIT Schwarzman College of Computing (October 2022), Mastering Design Thinking from MIT Sloan School of Management (May 2022), and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) (May 2022).
