Sam Simkin

CFO at Hookit

Sam Simkin has over 20 years of experience in financial and operational management. Sam is currently the EVP and Chief Financial Officer at Hookit, a sponsorship analytics and valuation company. Prior to joining Hookit, Sam was the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at X-1 Audio Inc., where they were responsible for all financial and operational aspects of the business. During their tenure at X-1 Audio, Sam developed and implemented an inventory planning and purchasing system which reduced inventory by 50% while sales doubled. Sam also reduced accounting personnel by 50% while improving the monthly close from 10 days to 2 days. As a result of these actions, gross margins increased by 25%, and the company generated positive EBITDA for the first time in company history.

Prior to X-1 Audio, Sam was the CFO at Newgen Results Corporation (NWGN), where they were responsible for all financial and operational aspects of the business. During their tenure at Newgen, Sam instilled a culture of process documentation and continuous improvement, which led to increased gross margins and positive EBITDA.

Sam Simkin is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business.

After completing a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Manitoba, Sam Simkin became a Certified General Accountant (CGA). Sam then went on to complete a Masters of Business Administration in Finance at Ivey Business School at Western University.

Sam Simkin reports to Scott Tilton, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Roger A. Breum - Head of Marketing & Sponsorship Insights, RJ Kraus - Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer, and Kelly McGuire - Head of Customer Success.
