Nehal Gerges

Nehal Gerges has a strong background in software development and project management. They began their career as a Software Developer at New Horizons Worldwide Inc in 2005 and continued to work in various software development roles at Niagara Region and FCT (First Canadian Title). In 2011, Nehal joined Ontario Health as a Senior Developer. They then moved to HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) in 2013, starting as a Team Lead in the Corporate Solutions Group and eventually progressing to the role of Senior Manager in Agile Delivery. Currently, Nehal holds the position of Senior Director in the PMO and Operations of the Investment Solutions Group at HOOPP.

Nehal Gerges obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (B.Sc.) from Cairo University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. In terms of additional certifications, they are a Scrum Foundations Educator, having obtained this certification from the Scrum Alliance in October 2021. Nehal is also an Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), having received this certification in September 2019. Prior to that, they became a Certified Scrum Master in February 2017. Nehal has also earned a certification in Finance for Non-Financial Professionals from the Ivey Business School at Western University, although the specific details regarding the month and year of obtaining this certification are unavailable. Additionally, they hold an ITIL Foundation certification from APMG-International and has pursued intermediate-level certification in Release, Control, and Validation. Nehal Gerges has further obtained certifications from Microsoft as a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) and a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD). Nehal also holds an Oracle Certified Associate certification in Oracle 10g Database Administration.
