Ray Lloyd

Ray Lloyd currently serves as the VP of Engineering at Horizon Quantum since January 2025. Prior to this role, Ray was the Chief Technology Officer at Eiratech Robotics from June 2018 to January 2025, leading the development of AI-enabled software solutions for autonomous mobile robotics in manufacturing and logistics. With a strong background in research at IBM from April 2008 to June 2018, Ray focused on innovative uses of AI to address real-world challenges. In addition, Ray has extensive consulting experience with Cisano/Innovative-earth Ltd and served as the Director and Consultant, with notable projects including collaborations with GoogleX and Innalabs on advanced engineering systems. Earlier in Ray's career, the role of R&D Principle Hardware Engineer at Ircona involved overseeing mechanical and thermal compliance for various high-performance devices. Ray holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (AI) from Technological University Dublin and a BSc Honours in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin.
