Horizons, A Family Service Alliance, with its headquarters at 819 5th Street SE in Cedar Rapids, provides a variety of human services across East-Central Iowa including Financial Health and Wellness, Neighborhood Transportation Service, Meals on Wheels, Elder Services, Community-Based Family Support, and the Survivors Program for families of homicide victims.

Hundreds of dedicated volunteers share their time and talents which enable us to serve many more people in Iowa communities.

The Community and Health Services team at Horizons (A Family Service Alliance) is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals and families in East-Central Iowa. This team works to reduce food insecurity, improve financial stability, and decrease barriers to employment through various programs, such as Meals on Wheels, Neighborhood Transportation Service, and community-based family support. Team members oversee initiatives that promote holistic health and client-centered services, aiming to instill hope and create a promising future for underserved populations.

Community and Health Services

The Counseling and Wellness Team at Horizons provides critical support services aimed at enhancing the mental and financial well-being of clients. This team includes roles such as the Senior Financial Wellness Counselor and Representative Payee Program Coordinator, who work to improve financial literacy and manage clients' benefits, while the Licensed Mental Health Counselor offers therapeutic services to address mental health challenges. Together, they adopt a holistic, client-centered approach to foster long-term stability and well-being for underserved populations in East-Central Iowa.
