Nate Mitchell

Nate Mitchell has over 10 years of experience in the tech industry. Nate began their career in 2008 as a Linux Technician at DcData. In 2010, they moved to Gijima as a Software Developer. In 2012, they worked as a Linux Specialist at Independent Systems, followed by a Systems Engineer role at Wi-Fire in 2014. In 2016, they joined Amazon Web Services as a Senior Workforce Analyst, where they used Python Pandas, SQL, and Tableau for data analysis, wrote Python applications, and managed the analyses of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of site performance. In 2018, they moved to Wala as a Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer, where they used the Serverless.com framework for deployment of AWS Stepfunctions, Lambda Functions, DynamoDB, ECS, EC2, etc. Currently, they are working as a Lead DevOps Engineer at Hornet, where they are responsible for building queer social media infrastructure and maintaining 100% uptime multiple times a day.

Nate Mitchell completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, General from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in 2005. From 2000 to 2004, they attended Carter High School/Brookby Learning. In 2007-2008, they completed an NC:IT in Information Technology from IT Intellect. Nate also holds an A+ certification from CompTIA.
