Andrew Schorr has worked in a variety of roles since 2003. In 2003, they were an East Asia/Pacific Bureau Summer Intern for the U.S. Department of State, where they traveled around the Philippines interviewing detained American Citizens. In 2006, they co-founded Native Systems Ltd., an online city guide that boasted the first online English maps in Beijing and a popular SMS search and response listings bot. In 2008, they co-founded GuestOps, a concierge software for five-star hotels in China. In 2012, they founded and became CEO of Grata, a B2B live chat platform for China used by top multinational brands. In 2015, they began mentoring at Chinaccelerator, where they gave talks and WeChat workshops for startup batches, plus office hours and paired mentoring with a select number of startups. In 2022, they began working as a Product Lead for Hospitable.com.
Andrew Schorr attended Washington and Lee University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Politics and East Asian Studies.
