Dimitry Sayenko is an Associate Professor and the Paula and Joseph C. “Rusty” Walter III Chair in Neuromodulation at Houston Methodist, where they currently serve as Director of Spinal Cord Injury Research in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Center for Neural Systems Restoration. With a strong focus on neuromodulation and the plasticity of the neuromuscular system, they investigate electrical spinal cord stimulation's role in enhancing motor function following neurological conditions. Dimitry previously held academic and research roles at institutions such as the University of Louisville and the University of California, Los Angeles, and acquired extensive research experience at various rehabilitation centers. They earned multiple degrees, including a PhD in Aerospace Medicine and an MD in Clinical Neurology.
