Houston Mind & Brain is a physician-led interventional psychiatry clinic in Houston, Texas, specializing in brain-based treatments for depression, OCD, and anxiety — including cases that haven't responded to standard care.
We take a different approach. Before selecting any treatment, we start by understanding what's actually driving a patient's symptoms — through labs, clinical history, cognitive testing, and a careful review of lifestyle factors. From there, we match the right intervention to the individual: medication management, psychotherapy, TMS, Spravato, ketamine-assisted therapy, or a coordinated combination.
Our clinical framework is built on the research of our founder and Medical Director, Dr. Raymond Young-Jin Cho — one of a small number of psychiatrists in the country who brings NIH-funded TMS research directly into clinical practice. Over a 30-year career spanning Baylor College of Medicine, the University of Pittsburgh, UTHealth, and the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Dr. Cho's work has focused on the neural mechanisms underlying treatment resistance and the neurostimulation approaches that address it. He has published in Science, Nature Neuroscience, PNAS, and the American Journal of Psychiatry, among others.
Day-to-day care is delivered by our physician-led team of experienced NPs, therapists, and BrainsWay-certified TMS specialists — trained and supervised within the clinical protocols Dr. Cho has established, with weekly case review.
We see patients at every stage: those seeking a thorough first evaluation, those who want to minimize medication, those who have tried multiple treatments without success, and those specifically seeking advanced brain-based care.
Understand first. Treat precisely. Track everything.
