John Amar

John Amar is an accomplished music journalist and educator with a diverse background in the music industry. Currently serving as a Music Journalist for Houston Press since October 2018, John focuses on Houston's music scene through concert reviews, interviews with national touring artists, feature stories on local recording artists, and concert photography. Additionally, John has been a Private Piano and Voice Instructor since June 2016, maintaining a studio of 10 students, while also teaching at Vivaldi Music Academy since January 2016, where the average student count reaches 55. With a comprehensive educational background that includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Houston and a Certificate in Music Business from The University of Texas at Austin, John Amar combines expertise in performance, music theory, and instructional techniques to foster musical growth in students of all ages.
