Dane serves as Executive Director for Market Development and Government Relations at Hover. Before joining the Hover Energy team, Dane was a Senior Advisor for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). He managed a global portfolio that strengthened multilateral ties by promoting U.S. energy exports and policy worldwide—focused on underserved markets in Europe, the Caribbean, and the Asia Pacific. Dane engaged with island nations that lacked the scale needed to attract commercial interest while also paying exorbitant costs to meet their energy needs. He is excited to continue this work by promoting Hover’s Wind-Powered Microgrids to accelerate the energy transition.
During his tenure in the Executive Branch, he learned firsthand the volatility of global energy markets roiled by COVID-19. At the same time, he fostered relationships with public and private sector energy stakeholders worldwide. He looks forward to re-engaging the many friends he first met at DOE on behalf of Hover.
Dane earned a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University, where he worked on political campaigns while attending school full-time. Before his time in energy, Dane worked on political campaigns ranging from Senate races to Presidential candidates. He graduated from Georgetown University, attended the University of Alabama, and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom.
