Ian E. is an accomplished computer vision expert with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently serving as Director of Computer Vision at Hover since May 2021, Ian has held various roles including Senior Engineering Manager and Senior Computer Vision Engineer. Prior experience at HERE Technologies spanned eight years, where Ian contributed as Principal Research Engineer and led initiatives in automated 3D feature extraction and deep learning methods for HD Maps. Additional roles include senior research and lead research engineer positions at HERE, a PhD student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a computer vision intern at Honda Research Institute. Ian holds a PhD and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
