Chief Technical Pilot at Hoverfly Technologies

Arief Azis has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. In 2018, they joined Hoverfly Technologies as a Senior UAS Test Pilot, where they worked with tether-powered drones for ISR and aerial communications relay. Prior to that, in 2017, Arief served as an Unmanned Vehicle Systems Specialist at the Marine and Coastal Ecology Research Center. Arief also worked as a Remote Pilot at SkyWords Media Group. Arief's earlier experience includes working as an Audio Video Engineer at Walt Disney World from 1998 to 2017. In 2017, they briefly served as a UAS Pilot in Command at Florida Power & Light Company and as a Volunteer Media Contributor at the American Red Cross.

Arief Azis completed their education in various institutions. In 1991-1992, they attended Musician's Institute and obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Percussion Instruments. Following this, in 1997-1998, they attended Fullsail University and earned an Associate of Science degree in Sound Engineering. Later, from 2005 to 2008, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Technical Management from DeVry University. In 2016, Arief Azis obtained an FAA Airmen Certificate: sUAS rated from Sunstate Aviation. This certification was granted by the Federal Aviation Administration in October 2016.
