Alan McCartney is currently a Partner at Howells, having joined the firm after extensive experience at Glenn Howells Architects in Birmingham, where they worked from 2004 to 2023 in various roles, including Director and Project Architect. Prior to their tenure at Glenn Howells, Alan was an Architectural Assistant at Alastair Coey Architects from 2003 to 2004. Alan earned a BSc (Hons) in Architecture from Queen's University Belfast, followed by a BArch from the University of Wales, Cardiff, and then completed an Ad Dip in Professional Practice in Architecture with Distinction from the Royal Institute of British Architects. Throughout their career, Alan has led a dedicated team focused on infrastructure and mixed-use residential-led master planning projects across the UK.
