Mark Smith

Mark Smith is an experienced product design and engineering professional currently serving as the Head of Product Design at Hozelock (UK) since October 2024, leading a team in developing products from concept to manufacture. Previously, Mark operated as a Product Design and Development Consultant while freelancing in 2024, collaborating with companies like Simple Design Works and A-Safe. Mark spent over 16 years at Universal Closures Limited, starting as Design and Development Manager and advancing to Technical Director, where Mark led design and operational activities in technical packaging solutions. Mark's career also includes significant roles at Dyson from 2012 to 2017, where responsibilities spanned from Engineering Manager to Global Head of Engineering Quality in the Personal Care category, contributing to major product innovations. Mark holds a BA 1st Class Honours in Product Design from Liverpool John Moores University and a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Heart of Worcestershire College.
