Jamila Ashford

Jamila Ashford began their career in 1996 as an Art Director at AAD American Advertising Distributors of Northern Virginia. In this role, they designed, created and maintained artwork for coupons, brochures, mailers, programs, restaurants, posters, postcards, publications, company branding and other marketing materials for clients based in the Northern Virginia, Washington DC Metro Area. In 2005, they joined Human Resources Technologies, Inc. (HRTec) as a Senior, Web & Graphic Designer. In this role, they were a project leader in web design, front-end coding and UI construction of various websites and web-based applications, as well as production of graphic design pieces. In 2013, they were promoted to Creative Director at HRTec, where they were responsible for all creative operations, including meeting with company executives to determine visual needs, overseeing the design layout and visual impact of marketing materials and websites, and maintaining the company's standards and vision of creative excellence.

Jamila Ashford obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1996. Jamila also has a certification in Drupal 7 New Features from Lynda.com, which they obtained in September 2016.
