Barry Connolly

Barry Connolly has a diverse work experience in the construction industry. Barry started their career at McGee Group as a Project Engineer, where they coordinated temporary works for deep excavations and large-scale demolition projects. Barry also oversaw the implementation of monitoring plans for existing structures and supervised various site teams. Barry then progressed to the role of Project Manager, where they managed a variety of projects in Central London, including civil engineering works, demolition, and RC frame construction. Barry gained valuable experience in undertaking bulk excavations and implementing temporary propping systems and piling methods.

Barry later joined Crossrail Ltd as an NEC 3 Supervisor's Representative and Engineering Manager. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing and managing quality assurance and technical assurance on the Whitechapel Station project. Barry ensured that all required assurance evidence was provided for regulatory authorization.

Currently, Barry is working at HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd as the Head of Integration Strategy & Capability. Prior to this role, they held positions such as Head of Technical Assurance Services and Head of Technical Assurance & Requirements - Phase 1.

Barry Connolly completed a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Dundee from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a BEng Civil Eng (Ord) degree in Civil Engineering from the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2005.
