Head Of Strategy at HS2

Greg Simpson started their work experience in 1999 as a Foreign Affairs & Defense Adviser for the Liberal Democrats. Greg then held various roles within the party, including Deputy Director of Press and Speechwriter to Party Leader Rt Hon Charles Kennedy MP. Simpson also worked as the Head of Policy and Research for the Liberal Democrats from 2006 to 2009.

In 2009, Simpson joined the UK Ministry of Defence as the Chief Speechwriter. Greg stayed in this role until 2012 when they moved to the Department of Energy and Climate Change as a Speechwriter to the Secretary of State, where they drafted over 300 speeches and handled strategic communications.

Since 2016, Simpson has been working at HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd, starting as the Head of Content and Insight. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Strategy. HS2 is the UK's largest infrastructure project, and Simpson's responsibilities include understanding the views of the stakeholders and addressing concerns regarding the project.

Greg Simpson has a BA(Hons) in English & American Studies from Brunel University London, which they obtained between 1988 and 1991. Greg also holds a Master's degree in War Studies from King's College London, acquired between 1995 and 1996. Before attending university, Greg attended Oaklands Comprehensive from 1981 to 1986, although they did not earn a degree or specify a field of study during that time.
