Fabio Balboni

Fabio Balboni is a Senior European Economist at HSBC Global Banking and Markets, where they monitor economic and political developments in Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Greece while forecasting eurozone inflation and ECB monetary policy. Previously, Fabio worked at HM Treasury as a Senior Economist, providing essential economic analysis during the eurozone crisis, among other roles. Fabio also held positions at the European Commission, Defra, and the United Nations Development Programme, and has published research on monetary and fiscal policy interactions. Fabio earned an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a PhD from the University of Bologna. They are fluent in several languages, including Italian, English, French, and Spanish.
