Gerhardt Samwell

Gerhardt Samwell is the current CFO of HSBC Bank Canada. Gerhardt has over 17 years of experience in financial risk management, and has held senior positions at Royal Bank of Canada, TD, and PwC.

Gerhardt Samwell began their career at PwC in 2000 as a Director. Gerhardt spent eight years at the firm, during which time they gained extensive experience in financial risk management. In 2008, they joined TD as VP Finance, and was responsible for financial risk management at the bank. Gerhardt held this position for five years, before moving to Royal Bank of Canada in 2013.

At Royal Bank of Canada, Gerhardt Samwell served as Chief Accounting Officer from 2013 to 2017. In September 2017, they joined HSBC as CFO of HSBC Bank Canada.

Gerhardt Samwell completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Pretoria, majoring in Accounting and Finance.
