Graeme Gaffney

Graeme Gaffney is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in operational risk management and strategic leadership across multiple sectors, including banking and defense. Gaffney’s career began at IMES as a Programme Manager for Strategic Weapons Support, followed by significant roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland, including Head of Operational Risk and involvement in the development of the Operational Risk Framework. Gaffney further enhanced expertise at Virgin Money as Head of Operational Risk and Director of Enterprise Risk, and then at HSBC, culminating in the position of Global Head of Operational Risk Audit. Gaffney holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Glasgow Caledonian University.
