Mat Barnes

Mat Barnes is currently the ESG Compliance Lead for Global and Commercial Banking at HSBC and previously held various regulatory compliance positions, including Head of CIB and HBEU Regulatory Compliance, Infrastructure Finance & Sustainability. Mat's experience also spans roles as a Court Officer at HM Courts & Tribunals Service and as a contractor for GE Capital and NatWest Group. Mat worked as a Family Caseworker and Advocate at Co-op Legal Services and earned a Graduate Diploma in Law from The University of Law and completed the Bar Professional Training Course at the University of the West of England. Mat holds a degree in Philosophy from Durham University.
