Matthew Viani has extensive experience in regulatory policy and capital management within the financial sector. Viani began as an Associate Consultant at Rosetta and progressed to an Analyst in Structured Lending at Goldman Sachs. Viani later held the role of Vice President of Regulatory Policy at Barclays Investment Bank from 2010 to 2016, where expertise was applied to optimize capital management strategies and successfully alleviate over $25 billion in regulatory capital charges. Currently, Viani serves as the Senior Vice President and Director, leading HSBC's Americas Regulatory Capital Policy team, overseeing regulatory activities across the US, Canada, and Latin America. Viani possesses a strong background in various financial risks and has contributed to shaping capital regulations while managing a team of specialists across the region. Academic qualifications include a BS in Systems Engineering and a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by an MBA in Finance from Yale University.
