Syed Affendi

Syed Affendi, known as Fendi, is an Enterprise Risk Management Professional currently serving as the Head of Risk Strategy at HSBC. With extensive experience at HSBC Global Resourcing and HSBC Malaysia, they have demonstrated expertise in risk appetite, governance, and climate risk management. Fendi holds a degree in Commerce and Management Accountancy from Lincoln University in New Zealand and previously worked as a Senior Executive at Universiti Tenaga Nasional, where they oversaw financial management and asset control. A passionate advocate for climate change and a collaborative team member, Fendi also engages in promoting diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
