Taryn Barry

Taryn Barry has extensive experience in the banking and financial services sector, with a career that began at Newcastle Permanent Building Society from September 2013 to May 2015, where roles included Corporate Alliances Officer, Product Manager for Home Loans & Deposits, Product Owner for Open Banking, Assistant Branch Manager, and Project Manager. Currently, Taryn serves as Head of Payments and Open Banking at HSBC, a position held since March 2025, following a tenure as Head of Open Banking from October 2022 to March 2025. Taryn's education includes a Certificate IV in Financial Services, multiple Master of Business Administration degrees with a focus on Marketing and Business Administration from the University of Newcastle, as well as various certifications in project management, agile methodology, and mental health first aid.
