HSM Aries.space is a student-led space systems research initiative based at Hochschule Schmalkalden.
We design and develop autonomous planetary rovers, experimental rocketry systems, and advanced control architectures for space applications. Our interdisciplinary team brings together engineering students from robotics, mechatronics, and embedded systems—guided by academic mentors and industry professionals.

Our flagship project, LEAP-One, focuses on terrain navigation, modular payload design, and onboard autonomy—targeted for participation in international competitions like the European Rover Challenge.

Aries.space offers hands-on experience in simulation, sensor fusion, motion planning, power systems, and systems engineering. We aim to bridge academic research and practical aerospace development, creating a launchpad for future space technologists.
