Sandro Nüesch is a Principal Engineer for Safety of Automated Driving at Huawei Technologies, where they provide safety assurance by leading SOTIF, Functional Safety, and STPA activities. With extensive experience as a Research Engineer in the automotive industry and academia, Sandro has contributed to Autonomous Vehicle projects and developed innovative model-based systems engineering solutions. They earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and both a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich. Prior to their current role, Sandro held positions at companies like Ford Motor Company and Daimler AG, where they focused on functional safety and powertrain control.
