AGROLABS is, initially, a research group that seeks to promote collaborative thinking to drive the innovation ecosystem in the fruit production chain in the São Francisco Valley region. In this sense, it aims to create an environment capable of hosting, connecting, and developing technologies, in collaborative action with various partners, Higher Education Institutions, and research institutions, players in the fruit agribusiness industry, and investors or funding agents (incubators, angel investors, venture capital firms, among others) capable of supporting the initiatives in the search for technological solutions to the demands and problems of the sector.

It is also a multidisciplinary initiative (with professionals from the fields of economics, computer science, data science, law, and accounting), in addition to having the participation of several higher education institutions in the region (UNIVASF, UNEB, FACAPE, and IF-SERTÃO).
