Michael Kumm

Michael Kumm has been in the software engineering industry since 1997. Michael began their career at Ultra Network Solutions as an IT Engineer and Junior Software Developer. In 2000, they moved to Integrity Software as a Junior Software Developer, where they maintained the purchase orders system for an accounting package designed for construction companies. In 2001, they joined UCS Solutions as a Software Engineer and designed and developed systems around process automation. In 2006, they moved to Bytes Systems Integration as an Application Manager and Software Engineer. In 2014, they joined Altech Autopage as a Mobile Software Architect and Developer. In 2018, they moved to Altron Systems Integration as a Senior Software Engineer and Architect. In 2019, they joined Hubtiger as a Senior Software Engineer and Co-founder, where they are responsible for developing and maintaining their bike shop management system and app. Michael plays multiple roles in the team by looking after their Azure environment, databases, backend (API) development, front-end development, integration, and various apps. The main technologies they work on are MSSQL, Java (Android Development), Objective-C & Swift (iOS Development), JavaScript, NodeJS (for API's and backend app services), Python, React-Native (his favorite cross-platform mobile development framework), AngularJS, ReactJS, MongoDB, MySQL, MSSQL, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure.

Michael Kumm obtained a National Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Wits Technikon between 1996 and 1997. Michael then went on to pursue a B.Sc in Computer Science (Software Engineering) at Unisa, which they completed in 2004.
