Dave Thompson

Dave Thompson started their career as a Systems Engineer at GE Information Services in 1993 and stayed there until 2000. In 2000, they joined Amazon.com as a Senior Systems Administrator. In 2002, they moved to Hughes Network Systems and held various senior director roles, including Operations Technical Services, North America Satellite & Business Systems Support, Network, Security & Business Systems Engineering & Support, and DevOps Engineering - OSS/BSS Platforms. Currently, they are the Senior Director of North America Operations & Field Services at Hughes Network Systems, responsible for leading cyber security threat mitigation and disaster recovery preparation, as well as overseeing field services teams.

Dave Thompson has a diverse education history. Dave holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University and two Bachelor's degrees from the University of Maryland, one in Computer Science and the other in Electrical Engineering. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including "Preparing for Google Cloud Certification: Cloud DevOps Engineer" and "Digital Transformation Using AI/ML with Google Cloud" from Coursera, as well as the "AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner" certification from Amazon Web Services.
