Hugh’s House is a Dublin-based charity that provides free, safe, and welcoming accommodation to families whose children are seriously ill and receiving treatment in nearby hospitals. Open 365 days a year, Hugh’s House offers a “home from home” environment where parents and siblings can stay close to their loved one without the burden of hotel or travel costs.

Located near Temple Street, Holles Street, the Rotunda, and the Coombe, Hugh’s House helps reduce the emotional and financial stress that families face during hospital stays, offering not just a bed, but a warm meal, a listening ear, and a place to breathe.

The house was founded in memory of baby Hugh, and inspired by the belief that no child should face illness without their family nearby. With the help of kind donors, volunteers, and supporters, Hugh’s House has provided over 50,000 nights of free accommodation since its opening in 2015, creating a space where families are not alone during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
