Chela James

Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Human Technopole

Chela James is a highly experienced professional in bioinformatics and data science, currently serving as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Human Technopole since October 2022. Previously, Chela held the role of Data Scientist at The Institute of Cancer Research from November 2019 to October 2022, and worked as a Research Associate at the Bill Lyons Informatics Centre between May 2016 and November 2019. With a background as a Bioinformatician at the Institute of Child Health from October 2011 to May 2016, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the same institution from May 2003 to 2011, Chela focused on candidate gene screening for inherited disorders and genetic studies related to heart development. Earlier research experience includes a Postdoctoral Researcher position at King's College London and a Technician role at Evans Medical. Chela holds a PhD in Molecular Neurobiology and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Zoology from Leeds University.
