David Barber

David Barber has held a variety of roles in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In 2007, they were appointed as the Director of the UCL Centre for Artificial Intelligence, as well as a Professor of Machine Learning and a Machine Learning Scientist. In 2014, they became the Director of Data Science Systems. In 2015, they were appointed as the Chief Scientific Officer of re:infer.io, a company developing next generation AI for automating customer relations and decision making. In 2018, they became a Fellow of The Alan Turing Institute. In 2020, they co-founded Humanloop. Most recently, in 2022, they were appointed as a Distinguished Software Engineer at UiPath.

David Barber completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge in 1990. David then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Theoretical Physics (Statistical Mechanics) from the University of Edinburgh, which they completed in 1995.
