Jordan Burgess has worked at a variety of companies since 2008. Jordan began their career at Cambridge Consultants as a Technology Scholar, where they were the technical lead in a team of ten creating a prototype touch-screen real-time home energy monitor. Jordan then worked at Memrise as a Software Engineer, followed by Elective.com as a Co-founder. In 2013, they were a 2013 Cohort Member at Entrepreneur First and a Full-stack Software Engineer at Lumi, where they lead development of the web app (Python/JS) and instigated a user-centered redesign which increased retention 400%. In 2016, they were a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Bloomsbury AI, which was later acquired by Facebook. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Founder at Hostnotion, where they were selected as a Pioneer and pitched the product to Tyler Cowen. Jordan also worked as a Scientist at Alexa AI, where they built a custom machine translation pipeline to use existing English data and refactored a large, legacy codebase to unify every locale's process for training NLU models. Currently, they are a Cofounder at Humanloop.

Jordan Burgess has a comprehensive education history. Jordan attended the University of Cambridge from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering Tripos. Jordan then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2011 to 2012. Afterwards, they returned to the University of Cambridge from 2015 to 2016, where they obtained a Master of Philosophy in Machine Learning, Speech and Language Technology. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from Coursera, including Neural Networks for Machine Learning (Toronto) in 2015, Compilers (Stanford CS143) in 2014, Cryptography I (Stanford CS255) in 2014, Startup Engineering (Stanford CS184) in 2013, and Machine Learning (Stanford CS229) in 2012.
