Kara Olsen

Kara Penny is a seasoned culinary professional with extensive experience in recipe development, food styling, and teaching. Currently serving as a Recipe Writer/Developer at Hungryroot since July 2019, Kara’s role encompasses product consulting, recipe testing, and copywriting. In addition, Kara works as a Chef Instructor for The Concrete Forager, providing virtual cooking classes that empower students of all ages to gain confidence in the kitchen. Previous roles include positions at Nikki Dinki Cooking, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia as a Freelance Assistant Food Producer and Segment Chef, and social media marketing at Long Island Braces. Kara’s foundation in culinary arts was established at the Institute of Culinary Education, where a degree was earned in Culinary Arts and Related Services.
