Deborah Hurley

Founder

Deborah Hurley is a distinguished academic and expert in computer science, data science, and cybersecurity, currently serving as a Professor of the Practice at Brown University since January 2016, with multiple faculty roles across various programs. Additionally, Deborah is a Global Innovation Policy Fellow at Harvard University, contributing research on innovation and technology, and holds a fellowship at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science at Harvard. Deborah founded Hurley in 1996 and previously advised on infrastructure development as a Senior ICT Expert for the Pacific Region Infrastructure Facility from 2015 to 2019. Previous roles include directing the Harvard Information Infrastructure Project and serving as a Principal Administrator at the OECD. Deborah's early career as an attorney included specializing in computer and communications law. Education includes a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an A.B. from the University of California, Berkeley.
